When? 19th - 24th September 2022
This one-week workshop for practitioners responds to the increased demand for mental health and well-being promotion and offers a broad overview of findings and strategies applicable in practice and everyday life. It emphasizes the scientific understanding of practical conditions that enhance mental health, well-being, and flourishing both on an individual and societal level. It is intended for participants in careers such as health care, education, community development, social innovation, law, and economics amongst others, equipping them with tools and skills in enhancing their own well-being and growth and that of others. It includes such areas as promoting personal growth, well-being, and resilience, coping effectively with difficult life situations, developing optimistic and flexible thinking, adopting positive ways of communication and developing healthy relationships, using character strengths more effectively, and contributing to healthy functioning of social systems and contexts. The workshop is offered by the Centre for Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health and is accredited by the University of Malta. It will be held face to face at the University of Malta Valletta Campus between 19th and 25th September 2022 and is led by Professor Alena Slezackova, Director of the Czech Positive Psychology Center at Masaryk University, Czech Republic. To answer these questions the Academy for Children, Youth and Family together with Seligman Europe decided to organize an INTERNATIONAL Online CONFERENCE: HOPE AND OPTIMISM with Martin Seligman, Alena Slezackova, Joachim Bauer, Philip Streit and Ernst Fritz-Schubert on 20th of February 2021.
